New Student Orientation
Welcome to W.T. Woodson High School - Home of the Cavaliers!
Cav Kickoff, our new student orientation/open house will be held on Thursday, August 19th from 12:30pm - 4pm. More details will be shared later this summer.
We know that transitioning into high school or a new school in general can be overwhelming at times. We have created several resources for you to view to help ease that transition. Here we are a community that supports all students and families to find their home at Woodson, as we are #oneWoodson. If you have any questions, please reach out to any of the administration or your counselor, we are here to help!

Parents will meet in Cavalier Hall to hear about:
3) Athletics and Activities
4) Hear from other parents
Parents and students will be able to walk around the building to see where their classes are located and to also meet their teachers. This is meant to be a quick meet and greet as more details about the courses will be in the Back to School Night Presentations. Students will also have the opportunity to practice opening a locker before the first day of school.
Students and parents can walk around and visit our various clubs at Woodson High School. Connecting to the school in ways other than their classes is good for all students and enriches the high school experience.
Students who need to ride the bus home can find their assigned bus in the front of the school. An announcement will be made letting the students know the buses will be leaving. Student who are staying for the Cav Kickoff and/or the football scrimmage will need to get a ride home from a family member or a friend.
Come and join us for games and food on our outside basketball courts located near entrance 5. Bring cash to enjoy Food Trucks that will be available, along with our Softball team selling dinner packs for $5.
Athletic Boosters will be set up in the Main Gym showing off all of their Woodson spirit wear for sale, so you can purchase gear right then and there. They accept cash, check or credit card.
Join us at the Football Stadium for a scrimmage vs. Langley at 6pm. Or on the Aux Turf Field to watch Field Hockey take on TJ, JV at 6pm and Varsity at 7:30pm. Or stay cool inside the Main Gym for Volleyball vs. McLean at 6pm. There is no charge for any athletic events this day.
