It’s your senior year of high school, and there are only a few short months left to enjoy it! You’ve spent the past four years dreaming about graduating, and the day is so close. Before long you will be off to college and life’s adventure. Make your last year at Woodson your best. By now, you know the many resources available to you and we encourage you to use them. If you are struggling or unsure of what to do next, speak to your parents, teachers, or counselor. They are all here to help you make the best decisions.
Senior year is an important one. Enjoy your last year of high school, you deserve it, and always stay on track, don't lose your motivation, and don't get lazy about school. Everything you do now will affect your future.

Celebrate Your Plan Day 5/15
Celebrate Your Plan Day will be on Monday, May 15th during all lunches (11:20 am - 1:20 pm) in the Auditorium Lobby. What is your plan after High School? Employment, College, Trade School, Military Service, Gap Year...? We want to celebrate you and all of the different post-secondary plans! Celebrate Your Plan Day formerly known as Balloon Day has been a Woodson tradition for many years. Seniors will post paper balloons with their plans on the windows in the Auditorium Lobby where they will be on display until after graduation.
Senior Dues - $70 - Required
Class of 2023 Senior Dues are $70.
These dues cover items such as graduation cap and gown, diploma cover, programs and other graduation day items and costs. Senior dues may be paid online using MySchoolBucks. Directions on how to pay can be found HERE. If you choose to send in a check, please make sure it is made out to Woodson High School and that your student’s full name is written in the memo section so that we can match the payment with your Senior.
Please know that when prom tickets go on sale in May, seniors must have any outstanding course fees, library fees, and unpaid parking tickets paid or cleared before they are permitted to purchase prom tickets. By graduation rehearsal in June, seniors will also need to have any unreturned textbooks and school issued laptops/chargers returned, and senior dues paid, before they can receive their cap & gown.
Outstanding items that seniors may have will be communicated to seniors and parents starting in April, with the exception of missing senior dues which will have notifications sent out throughout the school year.
Senior Final Exam Schedule
Please note that attendance is mandatory for seniors during these exams periods even if there is no final exam being given.
Thursday May 25th – 6th and 8th Period (this is a full day of school for all seniors)
Friday May 26th – 5th and 7th Period (this is a full day of school for all seniors)
Tuesday May 30th – 2nd and 4th Period (seniors are dismissed from school at 11:15am, after 4th period)
May 31st – 1st Period - following directly after this last exam will be Grad Rehearsal, Laptop Return, and Cap & Gown Pickup (seniors are dismissed from school after they have returned their laptop and pick up their cap & gown)
Senior Awards Ceremony 6/2
Senior Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, June 2, 2023, 9:45 – 11:15 am in the Woodson Auditorium. We look forward to celebrating our Class of 2023 by recognizing U.S. Service Academy appointments and ROTC scholarships, military enlistments and academic achievements, as well as our Woodson faculty and leadership awards. Seniors who report a scholarship in our SURVEY (due on May 22) will have their name and scholarship (but not the amount) listed on a rolling slide and in our printed program. We ask that Seniors only report scholarships that they are actually using. All seniors are invited to join us at our Senior Award Ceremony to celebrate their classmates. Personal invitations will go out to students who are receiving an award on stage no later than May 24th. Dress code for our Senior Award Ceremony is Business Casual.

Cav Cruise - All Night Grad Party

What is Cav Cruise? The Cav Cruise is an FCPS sanctioned alcohol and drug free ALL-NIGHT GRAD PARTY for the Woodson class of 2023 graduates. The party is held the night of graduation (June 6th), from 11:00pm – 5:00am at The St. James in Springfield where the kids enjoy a night of fun, food, games and prizes galore!
What will you be able to do there? Football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, yard games, obstacle course, swimming, climbing structures, trampolines, ropes course, nerf battle zone, caricature artists, photo booth and, of course, the famous Casino! Fabulous food and drinks are also included!

EagleBank Arena Venue Information

- Handicap accessible seats- EagleBank Arena provides accessible seating and it will be available on a first-come, first-seated basis. When you enter the building, you are on row F. This row has no stairs to climb. Rowes E, F, and G will be reserved for those patrons that cannot navigate stairs and one family member for each patron. Eagle bank asks that only one family member sit with the person since the seating is limited. There is ample seating near theses sections for other family members. If anyone is in a wheelchair, EagleBank has available wheelchair seating in each corner of the course.
- There are no tickets for Graduation. Seating is on a first come, first seated basis and there are plenty of seats at Eagle Bank to accommodate graduates family and friends.
- Items Prohibited at Eagle bank include the following (There will be a bag check for ALL guests.):
- Weapons
- Outside food and beverage
- Bottles, cans, containers, and coolers
- Fireworks
- Selfie sticks or tripods
- Illegal drugs
- Laser Pointers
- Noisemaking devices (i.e. whistles, air horns, drums, horns, etc.)
- Luggage
- Banners or Flags
- Silly String
- Balloons
- Any size pole or stick (medical aids such as canes/crutches permitted)
- Projectiles, including frisbees, footballs, and inflatable balls
- Audio/video equipment
- Professional photography equipment
- Drones
- Skateboards, Rollerblades, and Hoverboards
- Un-approved pamphlets, handouts, ads, etc.
**EagleBank Arena management reserves the right to prohibit any other item which is deemed unsafe or inappropriate. Prohibited items will not be accepted at the arena for safekeeping. Please leave all prohibited items secured inside your vehicle or at home.
- Parking- Parking is available in lots A, L, and K based on availability
- After graduation- Parents will meet graduates outside the North side of the building. No re-entry will be allowed for graduates.

Cap & Gown Ordering
Senior students submitted their Cap and Gown sizing during a Senior Class presentation on Wednesday, September 7th. The information form was also published within the Class of 2023 Schoology group for students.
The form only allows one submission per student, so if the form doesn't allow them to view it, then that means they have submitted it already.
If your student is unsure if they submitted the form, please have them see Mrs. Pugnetti in the Activities Office (C103)
Graduation Announcements
Families - Do not wait until the new year to order Graduation Announcements for your Senior! In order for the vendor to print the embossed announcements, we must hit a certain amount of orders before their warehouse closes the order portal.

Legacy Brick
Purchase a brick to be engraved for your student/family and installed in the front courtyard plaza of the school. These bricks will be intermixed with the regular paver bricks in the courtyard. DEADLINE TO ORDER IS APRIL 17th, 2023

FCPS Google Workspace Info
Dear Senior,
As you prepare to graduate from FCPS, it’s important to know that your FCPS Google Workspace account will be automatically deactivated the day after your last full day of enrollment. Once your account is deactivated, you will not be able to login to your FCPS Google account or access your FCPS Gmail.
It is important that you download any files you wish to keep before your last day of school in FCPS.
Instructions for downloading your Google data are on the Google Workspace Information for Students and Parents page of the FCPS website. Please work with the tech support team at your school if you have questions.
