Absences Add Up! When to send your child to school
While regular, daily attendance is important, there are times of the year that students are likely to develop colds, flu, or other infectious illnesses. This resource identifies occasions when it is best that students stay home and recover from their illnesses. It includes practical tips for parents with concerns about their children’s health..

Civic Engagement Absences
Parents of students in grades 7-12 may request one partial-day absence for civic engagement activities, such as legislative visits, awareness walks, nonprofit support, or advocacy efforts by submitting a prearranged absence form.
New Student Registration
For those moving to Fairfax County, you will follow the FCPS registration process. New families to W.T. Woodson High School can find all the registration information here at our website, including necessary registration packets. Be sure and contact Student Services for an appointment.
