Parents need to check and be satisfied with any program chosen for their children. This web page contains links to one or more web pages that are outside the FCPS network. Neither W.T. • Student Work Permit Process – Fairfax County Public Schools does not take have an active role in Virginia’s Child Labor Permit process. Information about the child labor permit process can be found at www.doli.virginia.gov.
  • Availability - Don't let posted dates keep you from an opportunity. Opportunities are frequently available long after posting.
  • Employment Scams! – Don’t forget to check out the company that is hiring. You want your work experience to be positive. The internet is a great tool for this research. Examples of search engine parameters might be: the “company name & scam” or the “company name & settlement,” or the “company name & legal.” Although it is also good to research the company site, they are never going to advertise any issues or problems they have. Clue to possible issues: the company charges you for training.
