Woodson High School wants to help your family transition to our community! Listed below are events and resources to help with that process.

Registration information and resources for military families

Important Information for students who are new to Woodson

Additional supports for new military students include:

  • Military students who are new to Woodson are welcomed with a pizza lunch early in the school year (students will receive an invite to attend).
  • New military students can arrange a tour of our school from a current military student. Tours are coordinated through Student Services.
  • Student Services hosts a quarterly Lunch Bunch Group where military students can connect with one another.

For more information on the programs above, please contact school counselors Adrienne Wood at @email or Elizabeth Walter at @email.

We also have a Military Family Life Counselor (MFLC) on staff to support our military connected students, Alaina Andersen. Please know that for Ms. Andersen to work individually with your child we must have this parent consent form on file. Please review and complete the form, sign it, and have your child return it to Student Services. Forms can also be scanned and emailed to Ms. Andersen at @email.

Woodson is also proud to have been recognized as a Purple Star School. If you have any questions about the Purple Star program, please contact our liaisons: Michael Kuykendall (@email) and Christopher Rosebrock (@email)

Our Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) sponsors the Woodson Military Network, a resource for military students and their families, and a way for parents to connect with other military-connected parents at Woodson. The Woodson Military Network can be reached at:  @email

To help make your transition easier, the Department of Defense (DOD) provides a School Liaison Officer or a point of contact. Contact a Fort Belvoir School Liaison for assistance with school registration or any other issues.
