a photo of lynn hillCongratulations to Administrative Assistant Lynn Hill who was recognized at the annual FCPS Honors event as the 2018 Region 5 Outstanding School-based Hourly Employee and one of five finalists for this year's Outstanding School-based Hourly Employee Award!

Ms. Hill is credited with being the power behind Woodson High School’s band program. An incredible administrative assistant who is always willing to accept new challenges, Ms. Hill became the go-to person as the band has transitioned the past three years. Students note that, without her support, band camps, Tunes for Tots, awards nights, and many concerts throughout the year would not have happened. She also organizes uniforms and serves as a sounding board for ninth grade parents and has been known to drop everything so that a student doesn’t have to miss class. As one colleague noted, “Ms. Hill is the perfect mix of consummate professional and the caring parent who is always looking out for her kids.”

Congratulations also to Spanish Teacher Maria Fidler who was recognized as an Outstanding Secondary New Teacher School and Pyramid-level Recipient!

Thank you to Celeste Jones and Adam Entenberg for all of their hard work with the nomination process by serving as this year's awards liaison.
