IMPORTANT INFORMATION

SUMMER BREAK IS HERE

Summer break has begun.  The next posting of the WTW College and Career Center Newsletter will be 6 September.  As it marks the beginning of the academic year, it also marks the beginning of many new and interesting opportunities.  Be sure to start reading with the very first edition so you can have every opportunity available to you.

PAYING FOR HONORS AND RESOURCES

A company with an amazing marketing team is offering everyone the opportunity to join their organization.  Check carefully before spending money on a purchased honor - regardless of the source.  A purchased honor never has the value of an honor that is earned.

Also, be sure to check the opportunities offered in the Career Center Newsletter and Naviance Student.  You'll find you have LOTS of FREE opportunities offered in those resources - especially during the school year.  FCPS is paying so you don't have to!!

SUMMER SUGGESTIONS

We hope everyone will have a relaxing AND constructive summer.  Check out the ideas for your year group.  You'll find something useful!

REMEMBER

SENIOR PLANNING PACKET POSTED

All rising Seniors need to work on their Senior Planning Packet.  You will want to turn it into your counselor soon after school starts.  There are sections for basic facts, student personal input, and even a section for parent input.  Help your counselor provide the best possible recommendation whether it is for a college application or a job application by completing and turning it in.  You can find the Senior Planning Packet in Naviance Student.  (Enter Blackboard, click Naviance, scroll to the bottom of the opening page to enter Document Resources, enter Senior Documents, open/view Senior Planning Packet.)
