Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!

Here are the events and forms needed to have a successful start to the new school year.


 Senior Portraits

Tuesday-Friday, August 14th-17th, Cafeteria A (Location change)

New Family Orientation and Tours

Thursday, August 23rd at 9:00a.m., Cafeteria A

Woodson's PTSO Welcome Committee is hosting a new family orientation and tours on Thursday, August 23rd from 9:00-10:00a.m. in Cafeteria A.  This program to help new families to the Fairfax County area become familiar with our community.  To learn more information, please contact PTSO President Melissa French at melissawtwptso@gmail.com.

New Student Orientation

Thursday, August 23rd at 10:00a.m.

Students who are new to Woodson (rising 9th graders and new-to-Woodson 10th-12th graders) are invited to a New Student Orientation.

This program will begin in the Auditorium for a general session.  Then students will be released for breakout sessions with their counselors.  New 10th-12th graders will have their own breakout session.  After, students will be encouraged to walk the building with their schedule, pick up supply lists, pick up their FREE Class of 2022 t-shirt, and visit the outdoor festivities by Entrance #7.

Transportation is provided from feeder Elementary Schools to the New Student Orientation.   

  • Canterbury Woods - Depart at 9:15a.m.
  • Wakefield Forest - Depart at 9:20a.m.
  • Little Run - Depart at 9:25a.m.
  • Mantua - Depart at 9:15a.m.
  • Olde Creek - Depart at 9:20a.m.
  • Fairfax Villa - Depart at 9:15a.m.
  • Oak View - Depart at 9:20a.m.

Students will be able to ride the bus back to their feeder Elementary Schools after enjoying some time at Cav Kick Off.  Buses will depart Woodson at approximately 12:30p.m.

Cavalier Community Kick Off

Thursday, August 23rd at 11:30a.m. - 1:00p.m.

Join the whole Cavalier Community for food, games, music, and more to Kick Off the 2018-2019 school year.  All activities will be located outside of Entrance #7.  Rain location is in the Main Gym.  

During this event, you will be able to:

  • Visit clubs and activities sponsors
  • Join the PTSO and purchase Athletic Boosters passes and Woodson spirit wear
  • Drop off medication(s) at the Clinic by Entrance #14
Emergency Care Form Information must be correct and what will be used in the event of an emergency.  Please review and update via weCare@school in the FCPS 24-7 websiteAddress changes must be completed in person through Student Services.  Do not bring in paper forms.  This should be done electronically.  Please note that you must have a SIS Parent Account created and the same credentials are used to access both SIS and FCPS 24-7 systems.
Health Information Form **New Students:  If you completed the Health Information Form at registration, you do not need to provide this again unless there are changes.
Student's Rights and Responsibilities Signature Page Students will review the SR&R during the first week of school.  The SR&R booklet can be found on the FCPS website.  The SR&R signature page should be returned to the Woodson Main Office by Thursday, September 27th.
FCPS Privacy and Opt-Out Forms Details parents' rights regarding FCPS policies.  Complete these forms ONLY IF YOU WISH YOUR CHILD TO BE OPTED-OUT.  Forms can be turned into the Woodson Main Office.
Family Life Education Opt-Out Forms Information about Family Life Education can be found on the FCPS website for Grades 9-12
Military Connected Student Form Information for Military Connected students.
Free and Reduced Lunch Application Learn how to apply for free or reduced lunch.
Parking Passes Parking passes are only sold online.  Detailed information on cost and application process is on the Woodson Student Parking page.
FCPS Food and Nutrition Services Cost of student breakfast is $1.75 and full student lunch is $3.50.  Additional information regarding payment options can be found on the FCPS website.
Yearbook Ordering This information will be available after August 17th.
MySchoolBucks Parents can use this online payment system to check balances and add money to school cafeteria accounts, to make payments to the school for various school related items and to receive low account balance notifications.
